Technology has truly revolutionized the business world, driving the need for competent information technology professionals. Talking about businesses, Human Resource Management is always involved. HRM as what I learned involved administrative tasks such as handling employees’ benefits, needs, professional development , inquiries/ questions, recruitment , assessment, , and even deployment and hiring new staff, ensuring that organizational policies and procedures are established and followed in compliance with relevant employment laws. Thus, HRM is more focused on records and especially on information which let the BSIT/BSCS include it in the curriculum.

In addition, an intersection between human resource management (HRM) and information technology merges HRM as a discipline and in particular its basic HR activities, and processes the information technology field, whereby programming of data processing systems evolved and turned into standardized routines and packages of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. On the whole, these ERP systems have their origin on software that integrates information from different applications into one universal database (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HRMS).

hmmm... i couldn't agree more.

true, that as future IT professionals, we will not be dealing with as much people as other jobs. BUT, being able to deal with people and lead them (not manage) is a skill that even IT students need to learn to achieve success and respect from our co-workers.

we will not only be facing computers all the time but also people to whom we are going to present our output.

i hope that we will be able to apply whatever we will learn in our HRM subject!!!

*i'd appreciate your comments, too :)*
